Dry needling: Reduce muscle pain and remove trigger points
Dry needling involves the use of needles in the skin around trigger points. These trigger points are areas of tightness in the muscles, felt under pressure. Studies have shown that dry needle therapy is an effective way of treating myofascial pain syndrome.
What are the benefits of dry needling?
Trigger point dry needle therapy is a very effective method of reducing:
- Neck pain
- Back pain
- Tennis elbow
- Frontal knee pain
- Muscle spasms
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Calf pain
- Shin pain
- Computer-related disorders
When used to treat these conditions, dry needling leads to:
- Pain relief
- Improved range of movement
- Improved function
- Increased activation of muscles
What will happen during the session?
Dry needling is an invasive session which uses either hollow-core hypodermic needles or solid filiform needles, also know as acupuncture needles. During your session, these very thin needles are inserted, into the skin, at key trigger points.
Dry needle therapy might not suit everyone and if you have any questions, please do contact our team to find out more.
